What “Assistance” Do You Get In Assisted Living?

At Tradition Senior Living, we offer both Independent Living and Assisted Living within our Communities. As the names suggest, Independent Living is for seniors who want to live independently, while Assisted Living is for those who need assistance.

However, “assistance” is a very broad term. And if you are looking into Assisted Living as an option, you need to know whether it is the right match for your needs.

So what services are provided by Assisted Living? At The Tradition, you can count on:

Help With Activities of Daily Living

Activities of Daily Living, or ADL, are the little everyday tasks that literally everyone must take care of, such as getting out of bed, getting dressed, bathing, and grooming. Needing help with Activities of Daily Living is one of the main signs that someone may need Assisted Living. The Tradition offers standby assistance with ADL tasks; residents can call on us to help anytime.

Medication Management

When you have a long list of medications to take at set times, or only under specific conditions, making sure you get everything right can be crucial to your health. In fact, medication mistakes are one of the leading causes of emergency room visits for senior citizens. To prevent costly errors, we provide medication management services to help residents follow their doctors’ prescribed plans.

Standby Medical Care

People in Assisted Living can still lead an active life; they do not require continuous medical care. However, if care is needed, you can rest easy knowing that licensed medical professionals are always on site, and that we have an emergency response system with 24/7 monitoring.

Even if someone is capable of cooking for themselves, that doesn’t always mean they want to. When you add in meal planning and grocery shopping, the process can be a difficult chore for many seniors. Tradition Assisted Living removes this stress by offering three gourmet meals each day. Residents can choose from an extensive menu of options and leave the cooking to our in-house chefs.

Whether you need assistance or not, it is nice to never have to clean. That’s why weekly housekeeping services are included for all residents at Tradition Senior Living.

With our secure covered parking, residents are more than welcome to have their own vehicles and drive wherever they want. But if driving is difficult, we offer chauffeured transportation to appointments, shopping, events, and anywhere else you want to go, in addition to scheduled group outings to explore the local community together.

Enrichment Activities

With a full calendar of social activities, group workouts, art classes, movie nights, games, gardening, holiday events, guest speakers, happy hours, and more, no one ever has to be bored at The Tradition.

Keeping residents safe may be the most important service provided by Assisted Living communities. Here you can count on having the most up-to-date security technology available, including a state-of-the art key control system with biometric access, a cutting-edge visitor management system, and surveillance cameras throughout the community.

Memory Care

People dealing with memory issues, such as those brought on by Alzheimer’s or dementia, require specialized care. That’s why each of our locations also includes a Memory Care community, where residents receive a customized care plan to perfectly meet their needs.
